Why do people become so selfish?

p$y(h0s0uL,,,, the same question i asked to many people and the asnwer was same...this is a world of competition n we must be selfish somehow...the selfish people will approach higher...but m not satisfied wid their views...n dis is not the correct answer....even i couldn't understand the matter !!!!

i don't know y people are being so selfish...........

You should be selfish as well. Always think about yourself at first, dont care for others.

And these are not just a word from me myself, rather than its word from those who has got enligtened like buddha other peoples, I hope you do believe in buddha atleat.

I'll explain you in brief, how it works practically,

Most of people have same complaints like you, but in the matter of fact, even that very person is pointed by another person as selfish and vice versa and so does the chain go on and on and on. The basic reason for that is, whole lotta mess in relationship, understanding, chemistry between two people and so on. Its because, due to lack of being selfish. We even dont know how to manage ourself, and we try to think about others, we dont know how to love ourselves and we try to love others, most funniest thing is WE DONT KNOW WHO WE ARE , AND WE SAY "I KNOW YOU"?


My Point is, be selfish, think about yourself at first place, love yourself, understand yourself, realize yourself, then only you will be able to help others, then only you'll be able to understand others, else mess will be created all around. Because

Unless you are strong for youself, how can you help others. Unless you are rich, how can you help poors. So if you want to be selfless, be selfish at first.

The only thing I would like to tell you is, 'You cannot give, unless you have. You cannot make someone else happy, when you yourself are sad. You cannot love someone else unless you have learnt to love yourself first. How can you forgive someone unless you have learnt to forgive yourself.



I teach selfishness. I want you to be, first, your own flowering. Yes, it will appear as selfishness; I have no objection to that appearance; it is okay with me. But is the rose selfish when it blossoms? Is the lotus selfish when it blossoms? Is the sun selfish when it shines? Why should you be worried about selfishness?

You are born - birth is only an opportunity, just a beginning, not an end. You have to flower. Your first and foremost responsibility is to blossom, to become fully conscious, aware, alert; and in that consciousness you will be able to see what you can share, how you can solve problems.



PS: THERE IS A GREAT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SELFHISH AND MEAN. PLEASE NOTE THAT. HERE I WANT YOU ALL TO BE SELFISH NOT MEAN.

but buddha didn't became selfish to help ppl. he didn't get rich nor he became strong to help ppl. he left all his wealth and happiness for the happiness of ppl. this is wat i mean to say to all ppl. why can't ppl be like buddha. there was no any desire in his life........not at all. he contributed his whole life for the sake of ppl.

i know in somehow i m also selfish. i m selfish for the happiness of the ppl. but i m not selfish like that of other common ppl.

Brother budhha was selfish for his family, beloved wife and his son. He didnt thought about them. According to their eyes, he was selfish psycho man. He was so much selfish for all the people he knew, he didnt even gave a damn to his father or even mother.

He was so selfish, he left is own identity given by his family and society.


He was so much confused with the working of this universe, that he realized, its not possible to understand unless you understand yourself at first.

And thats was the first spark due to which, he left everything and started to DIG THE GOLD, gold of enlightenment, gold of universal knkowledge, by plunging WITHIN.







Buddha was most selfish man on earth.


Ya he was richest man of century, he was so much rich, rich in knowledge, his wisdoms are still being read or heard or being discussed like NOW, even though hardly anyone cares.




Whatever, the basic of teaching of Buddhism is,

Self Development, self realization.

Once you are enriched with yourself, you'll understand the working of universe, you'll understand the art of living.


And as you asked, why cant ppl be like buddha?

Again brother, this is very complex thing to explain over here.

And its much more complex as you dont believe in GOD.


Whatever, I say its better to be athiest or non believer than to be igonarant blind believers, just like one sheep following others, what i called herd of sheeps everywhere.

Regarding your logical question I would like to give little brief about the working of buddha,


Buddha sat under tree and did meditaiton for years, and during that long peroid of his enligtenment, he didnt came up with just few words, like love all serve all, do this , do that, dont do this blah blah blah.


Matter of fact is, he came with 5 Great teachings, which is also known as Five Great Buddisht Tantra Teaching and it is kept so much secrete, so much secrete, that you wont going to find it in any website, magazine or any book.


And to cover up that study, you need to give up your life like this.


So what you read or see in TV is just a superfical teachings of buddha. Every kids know love all serve all.


Anyway, I'll explain you ALL, bit by bit. But I'm finding kinda hard to start.

Buddhism is nothing but just a redefined hindusim.
